We typically recommend a minimum depth of ¾” for a secure and stable installation.   Outside Mount Guidelines – Outside Mounts highlight the beauty of the blind/shade as a focal point in the room – Hides unattractive moldings/casings – Provides extra light blockage as the blind/shade is larger than the actual window frame – No requirement for mounting depth
