GreenGuard Certification programs help consumers identify and trust interior products and materials that have low chemical emissions, improving the quality of the air in which the products are used. All certified products must pass stringent emissions standards based on established chemical exposure criteria.

Oeko-Tex is a globally recognized program that upholds rigid standards for textile manufacturing. It tests for harmful substances prohibited or regulated by law, for chemicals which are known to be harmful to health and requires manufacturers to take precautions to limit growth of bacteria, fungus, and other micro-organisms within textiles.
Microban antimicrobial product protection works continuously for the lifetime of a fabric to inhibit the growth of stain and odour-causing bacteria, mold and mildew. Fabrics infused with Microban antimicrobial technology are ideal for any interior space when microbes are a concern including: hospitality, homes, offices, schools or health care institutions.
Many of Shade Works fabrics are certified by the National Fire Prevention Association (NFPA) for being flame retardant.
