The Tracey Rubinoff Foundation Skate-A-Thon
For those of you looking for a great way to spend your Sunday afternoon, look no further! Come out and join the Shade Works Team at a Skate-A-Thon in support of The Tracey Rubinoff Foundation. We have been busy planning this event for the past few months and are very excited! For those of you not interested in skating, other activities will include a game show, loot bags, silent auction, a DJ, magician and a raffle draw. Tracey battled insulin-dependent type 1 diabetes from the young age of 10. She lived her life with extraordinary strength, determination and courage. Her illness did not stop her from fulfilling her dreams and she continues to be an inspiration to us all.
The Tracey Rubinoff Foundation was established to promote and support initiatives that will assist the well-being of adolescents living with diabetes. To date, $850,000 has been raised with over $468,316.73 that has been donated to The Tracey Rubinoff Paediatric Diabetes Clinic at Markham Stouffville Hospital. Our goal is to have this clinic completed by 2015. Community outreach has always been a top priority for Shade Works. We have served on the committee for this organization from the very beginning and are committed to its success for years to come. We hope you join us at the event!
